"Für" – meaning "for"

Hello everyone! Today we're learning a very important German word: "für", which means "for". "Für" is always used to refer to something or someone. The most crucial rule is that any nouns or pronouns following it must always be in the accusative case. For example, to say "This is for you," we say: "Das ist für dich." Here, "du" (you) becomes "dich" in the accusative. Another example: "Ein Geschenk für meinen Freund" (a gift for my friend) – "der Freund" (the friend) becomes "meinen Freund" in the accusative. Remember, "für" always requires the accusative case! You'll master it easily with practice.
