Groß means "big," as in "Das ist ein großes Haus." (This is a big house). Conversely, klein means "small"; for example, "Das ist ein kleines Auto." (This is a small car). To say something is "new," we use neu, like "Ich habe ein neues Buch." (I have a new book).
