Hello everyone! Today we'll learn two main ways to talk about our jobs and professions in German.
Beruf tells you who you are or what profession you hold. It's basically the name of your profession. For instance, I am your teacher, so my Beruf is Lehrer (teacher). Tätigkeiten, on the other hand, describes what you do in that profession – the activities you perform. What does a Lehrer do? They unterrichtet (teach). Another example: der Arzt (doctor) is their Beruf. Their Tätigkeiten involve Patienten heilen (healing patients).
As you can see, there's the name of a profession and then the activities performed within it. Differentiating these is very easy and will help you greatly in practice! Just keep practicing.
