Questions with "ob" – Indirect "yes/no" questions

Hi everyone! Today we'll learn to form indirect "yes/no" questions in German using the word ob. This little word helps us embed a question inside another sentence, similar to saying "whether" something is true or not.

The most crucial rule is that in any sentence using ob, the verb always moves to the very end. For example, to make Ist er hier? (Is he here?) indirect, we say: Ich weiß nicht, ob er hier ist. (I don't know if he is here). Notice how ist shifted! Similarly, Er fragt, ob du kommst. (He asks if you are coming). Practice this, and you'll get it quickly!
